THE SECOND SEX Opening this Saturday

Please join me Saturday, March 5th, 3-7pm at Gamut Gallery for the opening reception
of The Second Sex, a new exhibition featuring powerful artwork created by women.
The exhibition runs March 1-19 with three of my sculptures on display: WIREWALK,SCOOTER CHICK, and STEEL MOM & CLONE.

I will be in attendance on Saturday from about 3-5pm.  I hope to see you there!

As part of Guerrilla Girls Twin Cities TakeoverGamut Gallery hosts The Second Sex, an invitational group exhibition curated by Genie Castro, Juleana Enright and Jade Patrick that explores the imbalance imposed by the secondary designation that patriarchy places on women. Through paintings, photography, printmaking, video, performance and more, artists will examine the injustices brought on by patriarchy and visualize how to manifest balance in society.

Special open hours for the week of the takeover:
Tuesday, March 1st – Saturday, March 5th, 3-7pm
Regular open hours resume through March 19th:
Thursdays & Fridays 3-7pm, and Saturdays 1-7pm
There will be a reception on Saturday, March 5th, 3-7pm

The Guerrilla Girls — infamous for exposing sexism, racism and corruption in the art world—are taking over the Twin Cities. In 2016, watch public art by and inspired by the Guerrilla Girls pop up across the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and beyond, and get wild with these masked avengers at community events. PIXAR: THE DESIGN OF STORY

I was delighted to take part in a capsule installation of the collaborative design process behind Pixar Animation Studios now on view in the Process Lab. Rarely-seen hand-drawn sketches, paintings, and sculptures from over 25 Pixar films, plus hands-on design activities show how Pixar develops its popular characters, fosters emotional connections to its films, and, ultimately, places the design process at the studio’s creative core.

Seen below, an illustration I created becomes multiples on the walls in the gallery.
